Electrical Panel Upgrade in Cape Coral, Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

100A → 200A • 200A → 400A • Fuse Box Replacement • Sub-Panel Installation • Licensed, Permitted & Inspected

Does Your Home Need a Panel Upgrade?

An undersized or aging electrical panel is one of the most common — and most overlooked — hazards in Southwest Florida homes. If your home was built before 1990, is still on 100-amp service, or has a fuse box instead of circuit breakers, your panel is likely insufficient for today’s electrical loads and may be a fire or safety risk.

Modern homes run air conditioning, electric vehicles, whole-home generators, high-efficiency appliances, and smart home systems simultaneously. A 100-amp panel wasn’t designed for any of that. ElectriciansX upgrades residential and commercial panels throughout Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, and all of Southwest Florida — fully permitted, inspected, and backed by our workmanship guarantee.

When Is It Time to Upgrade Your Panel?

Breakers Keep Tripping

If breakers trip frequently under normal use, your panel is overloaded. A larger service gives you room to grow safely.

Adding an EV Charger or Generator

Level 2 EV chargers and whole-home generators require a robust panel with available amperage. Many older panels need upgrading first.

You Have a Fuse Box

Fuse boxes are obsolete and often uninsurable. Replacement with a modern breaker panel is a safety upgrade and typically required by insurers.

Your Home Is 30+ Years Old

Panels from the 1980s and 1990s are at or past their designed service life. Worn components and outdated standards increase fire risk.

Insurance or Lender Requirement

Many Florida insurance companies and lenders require panel upgrades before issuing or renewing policies on homes with older or undersized panels.

Lights Flicker or Dim

Flickering or dimming under load is a classic sign of an overloaded or failing panel — an early warning of a serious problem.

Panel Upgrade Questions

How long does a panel upgrade take?
Most residential 200-amp panel upgrades are completed in one day. Power will be off for 4–6 hours during the work. We schedule inspections the same day or following morning so your permit closes quickly.
Will my power be off all day?
Power will be off for approximately 4–6 hours during the panel replacement. We coordinate with FPL if a utility disconnect is needed and communicate the schedule with you in advance.
Do you handle the permit?
Yes — we handle the entire permit process through your local building department (City of Cape Coral, Lee County, Collier County, etc.). We schedule the final inspection and provide you with the completed permit card.
Can I get an estimate over the phone?
We can give you a ballpark range, but an accurate flat-rate price requires a quick on-site visit to assess your current service entrance, meter base, and panel location. The visit is free and takes about 20 minutes.
