We installed a Generac 26 kW generator with automatic backup power switching at a home in Naples. The work started at the existing exterior meter main, where we added two Generac 200-amp automatic transfer switches next to it and mounted a wireway above them to carry the service lines. The generator went on the exterior of the property, along the side of the home.
- Location: Naples, Florida
- Service: Generac standby generator installation
- Equipment: two 200-amp Generac automatic transfer switches, wireway, 26 kW Generac generator, Generac smart modules
What we did
- Installed two 200-amp Generac automatic transfer switches at the exterior meter main.
- Installed a wireway above the transfer switches to accommodate the service lines.
- Installed a 26 kW Generac generator on the exterior of the home.
- Installed Generac smart modules on the outside air-conditioning disconnects for load shedding.
What the smart modules do
The smart modules handle load shedding, so the air-conditioning load is managed when the Generac turns on instead of overloading the generator.
