Weatherproof inlet • Lockout • Portable generators • Permitted & inspected • (239) 880-9473
For many owners it is the affordable way to have backup power: a weatherproof inlet outside, a lockout at the panel, and a portable generator you store and bring out when needed. A 50-amp inlet can carry more of the house than a 30-amp one.
The Town of Fort Myers Beach runs its own Building Services Division within Community Development, separate from Lee County.
The inlet goes on an exterior wall near the panel; the generator runs outdoors, away from windows and openings, never inside a garage or enclosed space. On a home with limited yard, we plan the cord path and storage so you can set up in a storm without hunting for the cord. Flood conditions on your lot may affect where equipment sits, and we confirm that with the Town.
The panel work carries over. See our Fort Myers, Cape Coral and other Generac projects in the portfolio for what a complete standby installation involves.
Owners of rental or seasonal properties often want a simple, repeatable setup that a property manager can use: one inlet, one lockout and one generator. A Google reviewer who manages vacation rental properties wrote that we have been very reliable across many jobs for their company. We label the panel so whoever sets up knows which circuits to use.
Yes. If you later want a 50-amp inlet or a standby generator, we can build on the existing panel work. See how a full standby system is put together in our Cape Coral Generac project.
As electrical work on the panel, through the Town’s online portal, with the Town’s private provider doing the inspection. Where the lot sits in a flood zone, we confirm with the Town where the inlet and the panel work are allowed to go before we start.

“I had Bert come out and install a portable generator plug into my panel… He was very professional.”
