We are wiring a new home of about 1,850 square feet in Cape Coral. These photos show the house at the framing stage and the rough-in wiring that followed. This project is still in progress and is scheduled to be finished in the next few months, so there are no final photos yet; we will add them when it is done.
- Location: Cape Coral, Florida
- Service: new construction electrical wiring (rough-in stage)
- Construction: wood-framed walls and concrete block walls, roof trusses
What rough-in looks like on a Cape Coral block-and-frame house
- Cables run through the wall framing and secured to the studs and blocking.
- Cable bundles run up to the ceiling trusses and tie-wrapped.
- Multi-gang and single device boxes installed in the wood-framed walls.
- Device boxes set in the concrete block walls, with a horizontal chase filled with foam.
- Cables secured to the block walls and furring strips with cable ties and straps, with boxes and cable ends set in foam.
The point of this project page is to show how neat the wiring is. The work follows the builder’s plans, and a tidy rough-in matters because everything you see here will be covered by drywall and stucco and has to be right the first time.
