Southwest Florida is paradise — but it also sits squarely in hurricane country. Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel, and Naples are regularly impacted by tropical storms and hurricanes that knock out utility power for hours, days, or longer. A Generac whole-home standby generator is built to keep the circuits you rely on running through an outage.
Installed permanently outside your home and connected to your natural gas or LP supply, a Generac generator monitors utility power 24/7. The moment it detects an outage, it starts automatically — restoring power to your entire home in under 10 seconds, without any action on your part. Your A/C keeps running. Your food stays cold. Your medical equipment stays powered. Your security system stays armed.
ElectriciansX handles the complete installation — site assessment, permits, concrete pad, gas coordination, panel connection, and final inspection. We install Guardian Series 22kW, 24kW, and 26kW generators for most homes, and 80kW and 125kW commercial-grade units for larger estates.
We size every generator to match your home’s actual electrical load — from a modest family home to a large estate on 400-amp service.
From the first phone call to final commissioning — a clear, fully managed process with no surprises.
We install Generac generators throughout Lee and Collier counties. Click your city for a dedicated local page.

Most residential Generac generator installations in Cape Coral and Fort Myers take 1–2 days for the physical installation, plus several days for permit processing before we begin. Total project time from contract to final inspection is typically 2–4 weeks.
For most Cape Coral and Fort Myers homes under 2,500 sq ft on 200A service, a 22kW Generac Guardian is sufficient. Larger homes (3,500+ sq ft) or those with multiple A/C units should consider the 24kW or 26kW. Homes over 400A service may need our 80kW or 125kW commercial models. We size every generator based on a free load calculation at your home.
Yes — all standby generator installations require an electrical permit from the City of Cape Coral or Lee County Building Department. ElectriciansX handles all permit applications, inspections, and final sign-offs on your behalf.
Not every circuit at once. A 22 kW Generac Guardian can carry the circuits a typical smaller 200-amp home needs, including air conditioning, through the transfer switch. It does not run every breaker at full load at once. For most homes under about 2,500 square feet, 22 kW is the usual fit. Larger homes, or a home with more than one air conditioner, should look at 24 kW or 26 kW. We size every generator from a load calculation.
Generac Guardian series generators run on natural gas (preferred where available) or liquid propane (LP). In Cape Coral and Fort Myers where TECO/FPL natural gas service is available, we typically connect to your existing gas line. In areas without natural gas, we work with your LP supplier to size and install an appropriately sized propane tank.
